Paul Gillingham

We are sad to report the news that Paul Gillingham passed away earlier this week.  Many of you will know that Paul was a much-travelled cyclist and a valued club member and friend.  He was also a highly accomplished journalist who put his writing and speaking skills to great use on a variety of projects describing his cycle-touring activities across the globe, most recently in a presentation he advertised in September 2021 describing his adventures “Freewheeling to Vienna”.  He will be remembered by many for his good humour and kind nature.

Cycle Surrey Hills – 24th April 2022

The Cycle Surrey Hills event organised by the Rotary Club of Bookham and Horsley takes place on 24 April.

The event has three distances, 17, 37 and 54 miles all sign-posted and marshalled with refreshments on-route and at the finish.
The rides all start from St Teresa’s School near Effingham. All proceeds from the event go to local charities.

WSCC Kit Now Available

The latest consignment of WSCC kit from Alé has now been delivered.  For those who asked me to include their requirements with the club order, it is now ready for collection.

We do also have around 14 of the most popular items and sizes which are being held as club stock at my house in Send.  So for any new members, or those who did not take advantage of the opportunity to order in September, there is still a chance to buy.  To recap, the kit items and prices are as follows:

  • Women’s short sleeve jersey £45.00
  • Men’s short sleeve jersey £45.00
  • Long sleeve jersey £55.25
  • Gilet £50.40

Each of the above is available in different sizes.  If you are interested in buying, please let me know and I can advise on availability, sizes and payment arrangements (direct to the club’s bank account).
