I have been advised that Leuka have a few Prudential RideLondon places left. They are a charity that works towards research into leukaemia and other blood cancers and support determined young scientists at Imperial College/Hammersmith Hospital. Good numbers out today despite the weather not quite knowing what it was going to do. In the end it turned into a sunny afternoon. Forsaking the faster section on this occasion, your scribe started the ride at Watts Gallery’s tea shop and joined the intermediate group for a pleasant ride south to Loxwood, via Bramley, Thorncombe Street and Dunsfold. Lunch was taken at the Onslow Arms on the canal at Loxwood and we were able to sit outside which is always a bonus.
After lunch we all rode on to Plaistow where the group split up bound for our various final destinations. Mention should be given to Carol who was last seen heading off with Miriam towards the Blackdown massif muttering about the need to ‘get the miles in’. Good on yer, Carol!
